Components of the learning pathway
Observer description (applicable to all):
Each assessment that have an observed workplace activity has a Third-Party Report that has to be signed off, in the primary healthcare setting, by a workplace colleague (observer) who had witnessed you performing the specific tasks. The requirement is that your observer is of equal qualification to you or above. Typically, this will be a Medical Practitioner, Practice Manager or Practice Nurse that performs the identified tasks as part of their role.
**If completing this unit in Tasmania, it is a jurisdictional requirement that your Third Party Report be observed by either a General Practitioner or Medical Officer with a minimum of 2 years recent clinical experience administering vaccines or an experienced Authorised Nurse Immuniser with a minimum of 2 years recent clinical experience administering vaccines.

After you complete the online assessments the following observed workplace activities need to be completed:
Immunisation needs for adults and older persons
The student provided advice to four different clients in the workplace on the risks and benefits of immunisation for adults and older persons including:
School age immunisation
The student provided advice to three different clients in the workplace on the risks and benefits of immunisation recommendations for school age clients.
Immunisation needs in pregnancy
The student provided advice to at least three different clients in the workplace on recommendations for immunisation during pregnancy.
Immunisation needs in influenza
The student utilised clinical software in the workplace to search and identify 20 eligible clients for influenza vaccine including:
IPPSCI001 Source and communicate immunisation information in primary healthcare
The student provided advice in the workplace to three different clients on the risks and benefits of immunisation utilising resources from three different key stakeholders:
