Immunisation Endorsement Pathway (Nurse Immuniser): HESA accredited course for students who are required to administer vaccinations independent of a Medical Officer.

Immunisation Clinical Pathway (Immunisation Practice): For students who are required to immunise under the observation of a medical officer as part of their scope of practice.

Immunisation Practice Support Pathway (Immunisation Support): For students who do not immunise as part of their scope of practice.

Recognition of Prior Learning & Credit Transfer

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process that assesses the competency/s of an individual that may have been acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning.  

RPL can give you a full or part qualification. It can reduce the amount of time you need to study, by recognising what you already know. It can also be used to identify the training you need to complete a qualification or provide a pathway to a higher qualification.

The benefits of recognition of prior learning can include:

  • Avoid spending time repeating training
  • Avoid attending classes
  • Reduction of time
  • Quicker and cost effective
  • Enhance your career opportunities

The following skills and experience can be formally recognised:

  • On the job skills and experience
  • Formal or informal education and training or qualifications
  • Unpaid work such as community or volunteer work
  • General life experience
  • Combinations of the above.

A combination of the following is used for gathering evidence to recognise prior learning relating to each unit:

  • Third Party Reports 
  • Portfolio of Evidence
  • Interview 
  • Demonstration

Credit Transfer

Credit Transfer may be claimed for one or more units of competency relating to a vocational qualification to enable an individual to forego training and have their competencies recognised.

Credit Transfers can be granted under any of the following circumstances:

  • Under the principles of National Recognition, a student is granted an automatic credit for any unit that they have successfully completed at any other RTO
  • When the unit has exactly the same code and title
  • When a unit code and/or title differs, and equivalency has been determined
