Benchmarque Group are working in partnership with Queensland Health to deliver the Immunisation Course for Healthcare Professionals to support the growing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce.
This course is fully funded for Queensland Health employees.
The Immunisation Course for Healthcare Professionals has been designed for professionals who can practice as approved immunisation providers. The learning aligns with the national legislative requirements while still allowing students to explore the specific elements of the state or territory they work in.
The Immunisation Course for Health Professionals is based on the National Immunisation Education Framework for Health Professionals.
This course has been accredited by Health Education Services Australia (HESA) and is the only Immunisation course currently endorsed by the National Association for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Health Practitioners (NAATSIHWP).
The Immunisation Course for Health Professionals recognises a growing number of health professionals who play a significant role in maintaining high immunisation coverage rates by providing accurate and comprehensive information about vaccines and immunisation programs.
The course includes 6 core modules:
- Source immunisation information in primary healthcare
- Examine and apply guidance on administrative processes for immunisation services
- Prepare for immunisation encounter
- Determine and communicate immunisation needs for priority populations
- Source and communicate immunisation legislation in primary healthcare
- Plan and perform immunisation
Through the duration of the learning, students will engage in face-to-face workshop sessions led by experienced and culturally competent Trainers, complete hands-on skills activities, complete simulated scenarios, role-plays, and demonstrations to develop proficiency and confidence in key immunisation practices.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce make a vital contribution to health care in Australia in both specialised service delivery and in a wide range of mainstream health care roles.
Benchmarque Group has worked closely wth a range of key First Nations Health stakeholders to developed Immunisation training specifically meet the needs of the emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners and Health Worker workforce.

5 Day Course
Immunisation Course for Health Professionals
The 5-day course offers students a skills based experience, delivering the entire HESA accredited course in a week long intensive.
This is best suited to individuals newer to Immunisation and vaccine administration and provides a premium experience with the course being knowledge and skills focussed.
The delivery of the 5-day course is supported by two endorsed trainers and has designed to meet the specific observation and learning requirements for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Professionals and Health Workers.
To be deemed competent, students must:
- Attend all five (5) days of the course.
- Competently complete all in-class assessment activities with support from one of our specialist trainers.
- Have access to a computer or tablet device and internet access will be provided. A mobile phone is not suitable.
- On completion of the course, students may be required to complete a small number of workplace based observed vaccinations. It is important that you check this with your employer.
Prior to commencement of the program, you are able to attend a virtual orientation session where you can meet your trainers and our amazing Student support team and have all your questions answered.
Hybrid Course
Immunisation Course for Health Professionals
The hybrid course includes a combination of self directed online learning with a one (1) day in-person workshop.
This is best suited to individuals with some experience in administration of injections and vaccinations under the observation of a medical officer.
The delivery of the hybrid course is supported with a virtual orientation session where students can meet the trainer and our admin team who are available ti support you through your study. The course has been designed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Professionals and Health Workers.
To be deemed competent, students must:
- Complete all online module including approximately 80 hours of learning.
- Attend a one (1) day in-person workshop and competently complete all in-class assessment activities with support from one of our specialist trainers.
- Have access to a computer or tablet device and internet access will be provided. A mobile phone is not suitable.
- On completion of the course, students may be required to complete a small number of workplace based observed vaccinations. It is important that you check this with your employer.
