About the refreshed course

The redesigned program is accredited by Health Education Services Australia (HESA) and brings together a streamlined design and has reduced the hours of learning from 120 to just 70 hours of learning.

The course provides learners with comprehensive knowledge related to relevant legislation, standards, and codes of practice for the administration of vaccines. This promotes consistency across states and territories among qualified health professionals involved in the implementation and application of immunisation procedures.

The refreshed course has also been endorsed by NAATSIHWP for 70 CPD hours.

Why in-person learning?

At Benchmarque Group, we believe that learning immunisation skills in-person is crucial because of the hands-on, practical nature of administering vaccines and the importance of ensuring patient safety.

In-person learning, sometime called classroom learning allows students to practice these skills directly, something that is impossible to replicate effectively through online only learning.

Our expert team of trainers, all approved vaccine providers can observe and correct students in real time, ensuring the proper technique is mastered.

As part of our workshops, our experienced team of trainers can closely monitor students as they practice. Immediate feedback is crucial for correcting mistakes, refining techniques, and ensuring that learners develop the competence and confidence needed to perform vaccinations independently.

The updated course now has expanded eligibility and has 2 delivery methods with our traditional eLearning plus workshop and our new 5-Day in-person delivery model. We have more information below and look forward to sharing more information as we move towards the launch of the new course later this month.

Hybrid delivery

Online learning + 1-day workshop

Online learning plus a one-day virtual or face-to-face workshop

Each e-learning unit may have a blend of formative quizzes, journal self-reflections, written questions, and evidence document uploads.  You must complete all assessments to proceed with the course.

Each workshop day is facilitated and assessed by a highly experienced immunisation provider and qualified trainer/assessor.

The course's delivery and assessment include all required resources, including an immunisation practical skills training kit.

In-person delivery

5-day workshop

Over the course of five intensive days, participants engage in interactive workshops, supplemented by innovative digital tools and resources.  The experience includes:

  • Dynamic face-to-face workshop sessions led by experienced instructors
  • Hand-on skills activities
  • Participants engage in simulated scenarios, role-plays, and skills demonstrations to develop proficiency in key immunisation practices
  • Assessment tasks, such as quizzes, case studies, and skills assessments
  • Instructors provide constructive feedback and support to guide participants in their learning journey and address any areas for improvement.
