About the role

As an Immunisation Clinical Educator, you will be responsible for: 

  • Co-facilitation of both in-person and virtual Accredited Immunisation Courses by teaching and assessing an approved curriculum ensuring course content is compliant with the varying immunisation legislation and regulatory requirements across different States and Territories including all classroom scenarios and local schedules.
  • Creating a culturally safe and culturally responsive learning environment that recognises the strengths of learners and their impact in communities.
  • Provide additional coaching and support in the classroom for students that may require some assistance with components of the curriculum or assessments. 
  • Collaborate across the Immunisation teams to contribute to a culture of innovation, feedback, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to train-the-trainer learning days for clinical education team that respond to current and emerging needs across the primary healthcare sector and jurisdictional needs.
  • Manage and maintain group and duty of care for each learning cohort ensuring time management, equipment and resources to deliver consistent, high quality accredited learning outcomes.

Your scope of practice and qualifications will include one or more of the following:

  • You are an AHPRA Registered Aboriginal and Torres Strait Health Practitioner or Registered Nurse that has completed a HESA Endorsed Immunisation Program or equivalent
  • Ideally you have worked in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Setting or in a primary healthcare setting.
  • You have experience working as an Authorised Immuniser in your place/s of employment and experienced working across the NIP in childhood, School Aged and Adult Immunisations.
  • A forward-thinking mindset, with the ability to adapt and respond to sector changes.
  • Has capacity and enjoys travelling to metro, regional and remote communities in Australia to deliver in person 1 day or 5 day HESA endorsed Immunisation Courses.
  • You hold a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116, TAE40122 or equivalent) or would like to be supported to complete this certificate.
  • Is adaptable to changing work demands, likes to be busy and can juggle lots of things.
  • Fun, loves a laugh and enjoys working in a team.
